SevenPoint Interiors, backed by parent company Visual Elements, was a Canadian commercial design firm expanding into the United States during the rapid growth of legalized cannabis retail.

They had a salesperson based in New York tasked with building relationships and generating U.S. opportunities – but expansion required more than outbound outreach.

The Challenge

The goal was to use a sister brand to strategically enter and expand within the United States during a period of rapid growth in the cannabis industry.

Entering the U.S. market meant competing in newly legalized states, each with different medical and recreational cannabis regulations.

They needed to:

  • Establish credibility in the U.S. as a Canadian firm
  • Generate inbound demand to support a one-person sales operation
  • Target only states where cannabis retail is legally permitted
  • Ensure all messaging complies with evolving cannabis marketing laws

It was a cross-border expansion.

From Months 1 to 3, we focused on Strategy and SEO — building a U.S.-focused expansion strategy aligned with state-by-state legalization and optimizing the website.

From Month 4 onward, we implemented a 12-month content strategy targeting legalized markets while ensuring compliance with cannabis advertising regulations and terminology.
