About the Client

Sansa Interiors is a residential interior design firm in Toronto.

The Problem

  1. A lot of experimentation but not a lot of strategy. They dabbled with Google Ads, blog posts, and social media, they pitched to design magazines and even experimented with billboards – none with success. They tried a little bit of everything but they didn’t have a clear direction or cohesive strategy. 
  2. Too much of the same. They received all their new business from referrals. While word-of-mouth is a sign of happy customers, it also attracts more of the same. Sansa Interiors no longer wanted to design single rooms or small apartments. Instead, they wanted to design an entire floor or home.
  3. Irregular process, irregular sales. They didn’t stick to a marketing strategy long enough to build processes and efficiencies or see regular results like consistent traffic and sales inquiries.

The Solution

Over the course of a year, we worked with Sansa Interiors to achieve three goals:

  1. Strategy
  2. Process
  3. Sales

Our first goal was to have a strategy: we identified one specific target customer and researched their psychographics. With this customer in mind, we made all strategic business and marketing decisions to exclusively attract them.

Our second goal was to build a process: with every completed project, we created up to 5 pieces of SEO-friendly content like case studies and blog posts, pitched the project to design magazines, and ran Google Ads. With a strategy and process in place, we created a well-oiled marketing machine.

Today, Sansa Interiors ranks number 1 on Google Canada for the competitive keyword “interior designer toronto” and projects have been featured in over a dozen print and digital publications worldwide like Casa Vogue, Design Milk, and Globe & Mail, amassing 3 million views. 

By the end of our program, we taught their internal team how to do their own marketing.

Our third goal was to bring in consistent sales inquiries: with a strategy and process in place, sales came in naturally. We worked closely with Sansa Interiors to create an appointment funnel. That is, an easy way for people to inquire and an easy way for sales to track them. 

After a year, Sansa Interiors received between 5 to 20 sales inquiries a month.
